Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers, pseudo mothers and women caring for others with a mother’s love. Mother’s Day can be a day of joy, gratefulness but even sadness if someone is without a mother or a mother is without their children.
Today I am sharing a few different links. I want to make sure I have something for everyone to enjoy today.
The first is some Mother’s Day Yoga! These poses are courtesy of Kids Yoga Stories, this is a resource we use frequently for our children classes. Here is the link: https://www.kidsyogastories.com/mothers-day-yoga/
The second link I am sharing is an article by Parents magazine. It is a good read and allows one to reflect if they are without their own mother this holiday. Here is the link: https://www.parents.com/parents-magazine/parents-perspective/my-first-mothers-day-without-my-mom/
This third link is by Psychology Today. It is a woman’s experience with celebrating Mother’s Day with no mother of her own and also no children of her own. Here is the link: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/blog/snow-white-doesnt-live-here-anymore/201205/dealing-mothers-day-when-you-dont-have-mom-or-kids
The last link is from the Institute for Attachment and Child Development. This link offers insight and tips on how to help a foster or adopted child deal with emotions attached to Mother’s Day. I found this article very insightful and hope you do as well! Here is the link: https://www.instituteforattachment.org/4-ways-to-help-your-adoptedfoster-child-through-mothers-day/
One final note is if you are a mother reading this, take some time for you today! You are beautiful, you are loved and you are worth it!
